Getting a custom designed surfboard is one of the best things that can happen to you as a surfer. Personally, I always feel amazing when I pick mine up. It is like Christmas has arrived but more. It is more like a decade of Christmases have all been wrapped up into one parcel and handed to me. I think it feels like this because not only are you getting a present, but the entire construction of that present was done with you in mind. The artist putting this surfboard together was thinking of only one thing during the creation of your surfboard and that was improving your performance in the water. It is a lot of positive energy to build into a piece of fibreglass and I believe it is this powerful energy that you are receiving with the surfboard, which is what makes it so special.

Getting a custom surfboard designed right for you is not a simple matter though. We need to understand what you are looking for, the type of surfer you are and how a surfboard can best advance your surfing. We really develop an advisory relationship with our clients – it is so important with custom surfboards as the whole point of a custom surfboard is getting the input to advance your surfing. As such, we have an order – interview process which covers all the information we need. This ensures we make the best surfboard you could hope for.

Shaping Your Board

The information we require includes things like:

• Your Height
• Your Weight
• Your shoulders
• Your foot size
• Your experience and competence
• Your board preferences
• The type of rails you like
• Your bottom rocker
• The fins you like
• The bottom you prefer

Depending on what you require, from there we will either hand or machine shape your surfboard to perfection. The whole process usually takes us 2 – 3 weeks. Yes that does mean you can have a new surfboard, within 2 – 3 weeks of seeing us at our factory.
